Win the ball from opponents, rather than wait for their mistakes

This is the week when you have to win the ball, to gain possession over the opponent, regain possession after a mistake, block the goal, cover your teammate, simply – defending. How crucial this moment of the game is, speaks so many important details you need to know and complete. The main aim is not to concede the goal. It is important to adopt the correct concept from an early stage. We are all aware of it and we make sure that our players get the best information along with training program.

The concept and methods of work need to be explained in theory before players put them in training and match practice with full understanding. We had a brief presentation about the defending topic and through the main points and with interaction with players, we were discussing various situations that triggered the imagination and motivation of our players. We were preparing for the coming sessions.

This week is all about defending concepts. The next step is – group defending.
