What type of pass should I choose?
Have you ever seen a team work without passing? What is passing: the player with the ball only, or the player who receives the ball? Are the other players in a team involved? What type of pass should I choose?
These are some of the questions we’ve had to answer today during the practical session. The execution of the technical element is crucial for a player to be able to make the best decision.
During the warm up, players are encouraged to practice several variations before they were put in a realistic game situation and asked to do the same move. It was a challenge, and we learned that in a match we have to be focused, to anticipate the whole situation, and have prepared decision ahead, sometimes react instinctively, in order to succeed. Many times, the action depends on us, but at times is also our teammates’ movement from that effects our decision. It comes to a definition that it is important to decide when and where to pass the ball – it is crucial. Through practice and repetitions, it is very much certain to learn and progress to the higher level.
You can learn from your success and from your mistakes. Knowhowsoccer team created a workshop where groups of players had to become teams. We encourage teamwork; we learn that it needs time and dedication and every player to contribute individually. We continue to work on it until it becomes the natural thing.
The summary of the day is one very well done to all – keep up with the good work.
