Light competition is a winning formula

If you happen to work with young players, you need to have passion for coaching, to be dedicated to your work, and lots of patience. Kids make mistakes, lose attention quickly, ask thousands of questions that you don’t always have the answer of, but, they raise positive energy, joy and most of all, they give all out, sparing no effort.

Fighting the heat, different challenges in training, the opponents, at times bigger and stronger or in a better position, kids showed their greatest effort and enthusiasm to perform at their best. Practicing dribbling skills is not the easiest topic because it requires lots of coordinative movements, body balancing and creativity in a tight space and short time frame. Progression from the beginning of the session until the end was satisfactory, so we could say that the job was done well.

In addition to the training session, we organized another teamwork mission for the whole group. This time, children had to show leadership skills, imagination and creativity to gain attraction from their teams. Their task was to describe various football terms as fast as they could – players, teams, clubs, equipment and many other. As always, learning through fun and light competition is a winning formula.
